Miranda is a young Australian girl. She was very distressed. She came to stay in our London Victorian holiday apartment with her mother as part of an European tour. This was planned to cheer her up after her parents` divorce.
Most days Miranda lay face down on her bed. She would not go out at all. Maria our podengo medio, visited her. She lay beside her on the bed and from time to time licked her face. Dogs seem able to sense mood. Perhaps they can tell from the smell.
Within days, Miranda was taking Maria for walks. Soon she was out making new friends in London. Now she is back in Melbourne. But Maria insists on checking out every new guest that arrives, to see whether Miranda has returned. We hope that she will soon. Mostly they are dog owners from Australia and North America who have left their own pet at home, and are pleased to meet a friendly dog on their vacation.
