I've formed an interest in these dogs and am considering bringing one into my home.

At the moment I'm looking at the Grande variety, simply because I prefer a dog of that general size.  I'm not looking for the dog immediately, maybe in the next 9 mos to a year.  Doing research at this time.

I've noticed that there aren't a great many breeders around.

I believe that you can find a Podengo Grande in Portugal but I am not sure that there are many in North America, at all. The dog is rare as it is mostly used for hunting wild boar and often kept in kennels with others in a hunting pack.
