Well if there is a dumb bunny that decides to hide in my bushes inside the dog yard - they many time will be found and flushed - I find that my big podengos more chase and corner - or grab and run around with it in their mouth. My basenjis however will go in for an instant kill.
tell me what you are looking for or concerned about and I can try to tell you - within the scope of what I have at my house - if they are like that or not.

I don't have cats but there are lots of children around my neighborhood and they seem quite fine with them. I think as with any breed - care of introducing and supervising animals and children will be important. There have been a few incidents of some wire medios who have not done well with small dogs - but then I have seen some that live together quite nicely.
Mine appear to be sweet but this is the first Grande litter in the US so we will all be learning. The puppy's mom Hanna will chase bunnies but seems to be ok with dogs of a variety of sizes BUT I did socialize her with a variety of breeds as a puppy to encourage that. Just the general size difference between a 50 poiund dog and a 6 pound dog would be problematic. My podengos do play with my basenjis who are at about 20 lbs.

I am not sure about next year - but certainly the year after would be a distinct possibility. If you went to the podengo-mediogrande site - Parrigi hounds has only wires medio and some new grande female puppies from Portugal. Nekon Kennels has both medio and grande and both coats. Remember however that even though parents are grande - it is possible to get a medio size since you can have both sizes in the litter.
    Where do you live?

There are wire medios in lower michigan that you could possibly meet. That way you could get a feel for the breed even though they are not the size you are looking into.

The Podengo (which included the Medio and Grande size) live in Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota, Arizona, 1 in Texas, and 1 in New Jersey. I sometimes visit friends in Indiana (Indianapolis area) but that's about as close as you can get to the bigger sizes.

The person in Arizona is the one who has imported several Grande Wire females.
