Dobry Den
I would say that Shaman is a Podengo, He has many of the markings. The sharp, upright ears, the white tip to the tail, white strip on the forehead, white socks and the white waistcoat are all classic Podengo marks. His powerful rear legs ressemble those of Marduk. Perhaps the real test is does he have the speed and agility of a Podengo? The way that they can leap sideways, spin in the air, jump upward 1.5 metres and jump downwards up to 3 metres onto soft surfaces are giveaway traits of these dogs.
The point is that the Podengo breed is 2,000 years old and they have developed naturally in many sizes, shapes and forms in several different countries from Malta to Portugal. You cannot compare this to the German Shepherd or Boxer bred in Germany in the nineteenth century from a single pair and then interbred amongst their close relatives, ever since.
Some people thuink that the Dingo developed from Podengos taken to Australia by Portuguese sailors. But the breed is I believe generally more aggressive and hard to domesticate.
The Tatras look beautiful.
